Sunday Liturgy & Announcements for February 1
We post the liturgy from the week so it will be accessible to you throughout the week. We encourage you to work through the catechism or be reminded about what Scripture was read in the service on Lords Day.
Call To Worship
LEADER
Psalm 18:1 I love you, O LORD, my strength. 2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3 I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
PEOPLE
We call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised. Amen.
Catechism
[question and answer from 1-3 The Baptist Catechism ]
Leader:
Who is the fist and chiefest being?
People:
God is the first and chiefest being.
Leader:
Ought every one to believe there is a God?
People:
Every one ought to believe there is a God; and it is their great sin and folly who do not.
Leader:
How may we know there is a God?
People:
The light of nature in man, and the works of God plainly declare there is a God: but his word and Spirit only, do it fully and effectually, for the salvation of sinners.
Confession
LEADER
Psalm 32:1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
PEOPLE
5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
LEADER
6 Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. 7 You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
Assurance
LEADER
Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him.
PEOPLE
Thanks be to Christ who presents us holy and blameless and above reproach before Almighty God. Amen.
