I've been married since 1999 to the love of my life Becki Sue, and together we have two children Trinity and Abram. Becki and I met in Fullerton, were married in Fullerton and both received our undergraduate Degrees from CSUF. We love the city and desire that the Lord Jesus Christ would save His people. I've served the church in ministry since 1996, I graduated from Talbot School of Theology in 2005, was examined and ordained for gospel ministry in 2007, and have served as a pastor in three churches, which were invaluable training grounds in service of the Lord Jesus.   My delight is in the law of the Lord and He is my meditation. My hope is that as the Lord brings you among us that you would believe in Christ.  Pastor Joaquin is an external elder. We are grateful for the sister church he pastors and for his labor to serve us.  In the case where the total number of elders drop below (3), and there are no qualified and willing men to serve, then temporary external elders may be established to advise and provide wisdom to the remaining elder(s). Temporary elders shall be comprised of men who satisfy the qualifications for the office of elder set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus1:6-9.  Also they must be either a pastor or an ordained minister from another congregation of like faith and practice.  We believe the use of external elders is consistent with the teaching found in the 2nd London Confession of Faith of 1689 (26.15), which states: "In cases of difficulties or differences, either in point of doctrine or administration, wherein either the churches in general are concerned, or any one church, in their peace, union, and edification; or any member or members of any church are injured, in or by any proceedings in censures not agreeable to truth and order: it is according to the mind of Christ, that many churches holding communion together, do, by their messengers, meet to consider, and give their advice." for apart from me you can do nothing." By October after holding informational meetings in his backyard Branches began gathering weekly for prayer and dreaming of reaching people for Christ in Fullerton. December was the preview service and March 20th, 2016 was a public launch of Branches Church OC in La Habra, a neighboring city to Fullerton. Since our launch, Branches Church Fullerton has transformed into a confessional Reformed Baptist church subscribing to The London Baptist Confession of 1689 (2LBC),  an excellent summary of the fundamental truths of God's Word.  We desire to equip and disciple one another to glorify God in all of life. We must first know God through Jesus as revealed in the Bible, and we desire for others to hear and believe this gospel news in order that they may also come to know God. We will know the word, love the word, and obey the word. The goal of discipleship is to become fully mature in Jesus (John 15:4-8). Growing happens when we are connected to (in communion with) Jesus. As a result, His desires increasingly become our desires. Our powers of discernment also increase and are trained (Hebrews 5:14). And, we become the kind of mature adults who reflect the image of God. The mission of God has been given to His church through Christ Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20). We are disciples that must make disciples of Jesus. A natural result of obeying Jesus’ command is to be on mission with Him where we live, where we work, where we play. We not only highly value and honor the gathering of the saints, we also recognize the high call of God conferred upon the Christian to go and spread the good news to unbelievers. for apart from me you can do nothing." We encourage you to arrive early for some coffee, fellowship, and preparing your heart for worship.  - Liturgy: Our service begins with a call to worship, the reading of Scripture accompanied by occasional reader response whereby the gathering of saints participates in the reading led by a Pastor. Traditional and contemporary hymns as well as Psalms are the general selection of songs. Before the sermon, the Pastor or one of the men leads the congregation into a time of confession of sin and assurance of forgiveness through faith in Jesus.  - Preaching and the Lord's Supper: The sermon is around 45 minutes, and afterward, we observe the Lord's Supper (Communion) weekly. - Family integration: We love having children during the service and do not mind a bit of noise. He led this work for 20 years, and when it became IRBS Theological Seminary in 2018, he was appointed the first president. Dr. Renihan has also served as a pastor in churches located in Massachusetts, New York, and California. He holds a PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, an MDiv from the Seminary of the East, a degree from Trinity Ministerial Academy, and a BS from Liberty Baptist College. They have two high school aged children. Israel has served in the local church for more than 20 years. His undergraduate work was completed locally at CSUF and he earned his MA from Talbot School of Theology. Israel was ordained in 2007 and joined Acts 29 in 2017. He planted Branches in 2016, convinced that God has people He wants to save in the city. Israel loves his family, the church, and the power of the gospel to save.  David and his wife Crystal have been married for 15 years and live in east Whittier with their two young boys. David served as a youth pastor for a total of twelve years including the time he spent at Twin Rivers Baptist Church in Oregon where he served as Pastor to Youth and Families. He has been with Branches Church since its inception.  Pastor Steve has been married to Gina since 1995. They have two high school aged children. Steve has worked as an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years. He attended The Master's College for his undergraduate degree and completed his graduate work at Biola University. There is but one God, the Maker, Preserver and Ruler of all things, having in and of Himself, all perfections, and being infinite in them all; and to Him all creatures owe the highest love, reverence and obedience. God is revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being. God from eternity, decrees or permits all things that come to pass, and perpetually upholds, directs and governs all creatures and all events; yet so as not in any wise to be the author or approver of sin nor to destroy the free will and responsibility of intelligent creatures. Election is God’s eternal choice of some persons unto everlasting life-not because of foreseen merit in them, but of His mere mercy in Christ-in consequence of which choice they are called, justified and glorified. God originally created Man in His own image, and free from sin; but, through the temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original holiness and righteousness; whereby his posterity inherit a nature corrupt and wholly opposed to God and His law, are under condemnation, and as soon as they are capable of moral action, become actual transgressors. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man. Having taken upon Himself human nature, yet without sin, He perfectly fulfilled the law; suffered and died upon the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended to His Father, at whose right hand He ever lives to make intercession for His people. He is the only Mediator, the Prophet, Priest and King of the Church, and Sovereign of the Universe. Regeneration is a change of heart, wrought by the Holy Spirit, who quickens the dead in trespasses and sins enlightening their minds spiritually and savingly to understand the Word of God, and renewing their whole nature, so that they love and practice holiness. It is a work of God’s free and special grace alone. Repentance is an evangelical grace, wherein a person being by the Holy Spirit, made sensible of the manifold evil of his sin, humbles himself for it, with godly sorrow, detestation of it, and self-abhorrence, with a purpose and endeavor to walk before God so as to please Him in all things. Saving faith is the belief, on God’s authority, of whatsoever is revealed in His Word concerning Christ; accepting and resting upon Him alone for justification and eternal life. It is wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit, and is accompanied by all other saving graces, and leads to a life of holiness. Justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal of sinners, who believe in Christ, from all sin, through the satisfaction that Christ has made; not for anything wrought in them or done by them; but on account of the obedience and satisfaction of Christ, they receiving and resting on Him and His righteousness by faith. Those who have been regenerated are also sanctified by God’s word and Spirit dwelling in them. This sanctification is progressive through the supply of Divine strength, which all saints seek to obtain, pressing after a heavenly life in cordial obedience to all Christ’s commands. Those whom God hath accepted in the Beloved, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere to the end; and though they may fall through neglect and temptation, into sin, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, bring reproach on the Church, and temporal judgments on themselves, yet they shall be renewed again unto repentance, and be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. The Lord Jesus is the head of the Church, which is composed of all His true disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government. According to His commandment, Christians are to associate themselves into particular societies or churches; and to each of these churches He hath given needful authority for administering that order, discipline and worship which He hath appointed. The regular officers of a Church are Bishops or Elders, and Deacons. Baptism is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus, obligatory upon every believer, wherein he is immersed in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, as a sign of his fellowship with the death and resurrection of Christ, of remission of sins, and of giving himself up to God, to live and walk in newness of life. It is prerequisite to church fellowship, and to participation in the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of Jesus Christ, to be administered with the elements of bread and wine, and to be observed by His churches till the end of the world. It is in no sense a sacrifice, but is designed to commemorate His death, to confirm the faith and other graces of Christians, and to be a bond, pledge and renewal of their communion with Him, and of their church fellowship. The Lord’s Day is a Christian institution for regular observance, and should be employed in exercises of worship and spiritual devotion, both public and private, resting from worldly employments and amusements, works of necessity and mercy only excepted. God alone is Lord of the conscience; and He hath left it free from the doctrines and commandments of men, which are in anything contrary to His word, or not contained in it. Civil magistrates being ordained of God, subjection in all lawful things commanded by them ought to be yielded by us in the Lord, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. The bodies of men after death return to dust, but their spirits return immediately to God-the righteous to rest with Him; the wicked, to be reserved under darkness to the judgment. At the last day, the bodies of all the dead, both just and unjust, will be raised. God hath appointed a day, wherein He will judge the world by Jesus Christ, when every one shall receive according to his deeds; the wicked shall go into everlasting punishment; the righteous, into everlasting life. for apart from me you can do nothing." The Huckstery is a little over a month away and we're excited.  I wanted to touch base and send you a few reminders as well as the layout for that day (see below). Most of you look like you've done craft fairs before and that's great, but for those of you that may be a bit new, these are some recommendations. **What you will need for that day;**      a. 10' x 10' tent/easy-up      b. table/s for your product if needed      c. chair/s for you      d. water bottle - although the plan is that the Branches Booth will be selling drinks      e. backdrop for your tent to separate you from the food trucks (row A), from other vendors                (rows B and C), or from parked cars (row D)      f. decorations!  The more decor the better :)      g. rug/mat - the ground is gravel/old pavement All of you should have received images to post on social media. If you have not received them, message me @Branchesfullerton on Instagram and I'll send them your way. Your advertising is a huge part of the success of The Huckstery. Please post multiple times during the next month. Branches has paid for month long advertising on FaceBook, posted to Instagram, posted on OC Calendar online, printed a 12' x 8' banner, and printed 2,500 postcards to be handed out at stores all around Fullerton. If you would personally like to pick up some postcards to handout, message me @Branchesfullerton on Instagram or email me [Becki@branchesfullerton.com](mailto:Becki@branchesfullerton.com). All vendors need to arrive [starting at 8am](x-apple-data-detectors://1) to set up.  Set up should be complete by [9:45am](x-apple-data-detectors://2) or earlier.  We are asking all vendors to park in a separate parking lot (which is not far at all) *after you have unloaded*.  You will be directed the day of. Please read and respond to the following as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. The night will start with a little mixer game (nothing too scary). Then we will have a short message from pastor Israel Gomez. After that, another couple crowd games to get a better idea of who everyone is. And then we will end the evening with a round of speed dating. We Small bites and desserts will be available to enjoy throughout evening. One of two ways; either the interested party will come right out and tell you, or we will notify you the next day once we review the results of speed dating and see that you’ve “matched” Because we care deeply for the safety and protection for God’s precious flock we ask that you fill out brief SINGLES FORM then have your pastor complete the short PASTOR FORM below.
